Who’s who at Bralux Travel?
Sjur Karlgaard is the sole founder and Managing Director of Bralux Travel B.V.
With over 30 years of personal experience in the Travel Industry, Sjur says that his passion remains as strong today as when he first started.
“Like most people who work in travel, I actually fell into the industry because I love to travel myself. That original spark and passion still drives me today. I genuinely enjoy each day as it brings new, exciting challenges and many pleasant surprises.”
Sjur operates Bralux Travel with a keen eye for detail and manages to convey his passion and understanding of the Industry to his dedicated employees and colleagues.
“I like to instil my core belief that each group and each element of a tour is important and unique. Making special arrangements for groups provides me with great pleasure. That is how I like to run the Company. No two days are the same and each group is totally unique.
” Sjur has extensive experience working for various agencies and has always matched this with a parallel career as an in-demand Tour Director (he is also a Certified Tour Manager), specialising in Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Baltic States and Russia especially. Every summer Sjur travels for approximately 50% of each month and this essential insight into the industry informs and hugely benefits his understanding of the Travel Industry from all sides. Sjur is a former Chairman of the International Association of Tour Managers (IATM).
Sjur is justly proud that in 2017 Bralux Travel celebrates 23 years in business!
“I have always been driven by the desire to create a solid, reliable and exciting tour business. We have never borrowed any money and have grown things organically and because we do good work. We try to be ethical and treat people decently whilst encouraging staff to be creative, innovative and share their own personal passion too. Luckily, that formula has worked and continues to work for our many satisfied clients. I am very happy and grateful for that!”
Ceri Booth is Office Manager and part of the main Bookings Team at Bralux Travel B.V.
Originally from Wales, Ceri was bitten by the ‘travel bug’ early and he has travelled extensively (most recently the Canary Islands – although he dreams of seeing Machu Picchu!). He is a relatively new inhabitant in Amsterdam, but already knows it very well. His Dutch language skills are coming along nicely too! Ceri is looking forward to exploring the region further in the coming months. Known as a bit of a gourmand, Ceri’s keen interest in food extends from the simple (he enjoys good bread and cheeses) to fine dining experiences and he is loving getting to know the region’s restaurants.
With experience in the leisure and hospitality industry combined with a recent background in high-end project management, Ceri’s focus is highly service-orientated and he firmly believes guests should be treated as he would wish to be treated himself. With a keen eye for quality and value, Ceri says he will use this every day to service the needs of our discerning clientele. Ceri’s personal motto is simply “Service with a smile”!
Freek A.P. Michel has been the accountant of Bralux Travel B.V. and Bralux Beheer for many years.
Freek has been checking our books for years and years!
Andrew Clark was responsible for Digital Marketing, Brand Management and was Webmaster at Bralux Travel B.V.
Andrew created the new BraluxTravel.com website and supervised our digital and external marketing initiatives. Andrew really liked words and his nickname of ‘Mr Wordy’ led to him to create his own Branding, Marketing and Content Management consultancy, MrWordy.com .
Andrew thought Bralux Travel was “The Best Incoming Travel Agency in the Benelux” and tried to make sure we would write everything in ‘proper English’!
